The Benefits of Chocolate

Chocolate is so wonderful, smooth, and creamy. How could anything this yummy be good for you? In the past chocolate got a bad reputation because it has caffeine and saturated fat (bad for your heart) in it. Now researchers are telling us that there are BENEFITS in eating chocolate. YEAH!

  • Studies are showing that chocolate contains powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants are used by our body in the prevention of heart disease and cancer.
  • Chocolate can trigger endorphins. Endorphins are what is produced when we exercise and get that feeling of happiness.
  • Chocolate contains serotonin. Serotonin acts as an antidepressant in our body to give us a feeling of happiness or wellness.
Chocolate and Children

Chocolate does not have as much caffeine as you might think, but it does have some. Remember that young children are affected by even small amounts of caffeine. It may be a good idea to watch the amount of chocolate your small child has to avoid too much caffeine.
