Quality Monitoring of Family Support’s Use of Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ)

Family Support primarily serves low-income, single-parent, minority families with children between the ages of 0-5 years. As a means of supporting young children’s healthy development and readiness for entry into elementary school, Family Support provides developmental screenings to help identify young children at risk for developmental and social-emotional delays. The Division of Applied Research and Evaluation (DARE) and Partnerships for Family Support (PFS) jointly examined two critical questions, as part of an ongoing quality assurance effort:

  1. To what extent are children being identified at risk for delays through the developmental screening process?
  2. Once children are identified, how well are they being connected to appropriate services?
