This set of projects emphasizes preparing families and young children for the transition to kindergarten. Specially designed materials are being used in several communities including Schaeffer (West End), Arlington (South Hills), King (North Side), Faison (Homewood) and Miller and Weil (Hill District) in the Pittsburgh Public School District. The purpose of these projects is to facilitate community-wide school readiness, transition to school, and parent involvement to establish a strong foundation for school success.
