The Annual Family Support Picnic took place on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Monroeville Community Park. Over 300 hundred Family Support families and staff, Office of Child Development and Department of Human Services representatives enjoyed barbeque, flag football, old-fashioned races, story book time and a grand finalé talent show by the Lincoln Park Family Center (AIU) summer camp children. The Family Support program and network was able to celebrate its success and bring staff and families together for fun, food and fellowship. Venture Outdoors joined the picnic this year and led a Geocaching course especially designed for Monroeville Community Park where youth were able to explore the natural wonders of the park. It was another successful and enjoyable afternoon in celebration of how Allegheny’s Family Support network enriches the lives of families and build stronger communities.
